Accord for Pinewoods is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Gary Roodman (website) in 2000 and published in A Number of Calculated Figures. It is a proper 3 Couple Longways dance. In this dance the men are permuted by: 231 and the women by: 312. It is a mixer and a USA dance. The minor set lasts 48 bars. It is in the key: B flat major. Someone thought this dance was Intermediate / Hard.
The tune also named Accord for Pinewoods was composed by Tom Siess in 1998. It was performed by Reunion (Barbara Greenberg, Daniel Beerbohm and Jonathan Jensen) and comes from the album New Friends.
The animation plays at 109 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily (no music plays during this slow set). Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
The dance contains the following figures: USA, hand turn (allemande), set, turn single, circle, cast, lead, hands across, hey, siding, arming (and probably others).
If you find what you believe to be a mistake in this animation, please leave a comment on youtube explaining what you believe to be wrong. If I agree with you I shall do my best to fix it.
