Ian Powrie's Farewell to Auchterarder ~ 2 Couple is a Scottish Country Dance. It was devised by Bill Hamilton in 1967. It is a Square dance. There is no progression in this dance. J128Someone thought this dance was Hard.
One rainy day in March we only had two couples show up for ball practice. Nonetheless we persisted and tried to dance this 8 person dance with just the four of us. It sort of worked, and was fun and funny.
The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.
An online description of the dance may be found here.
The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), set, circle, figure eight, hands across, hey, parallel hey, promenade round (and probably others).
If you find what you believe to be a mistake in this animation, please leave a comment on youtube explaining what you believe to be wrong. If I agree with you I shall do my best to fix it.
