Kendall House

Kendall House is an English Country Dance. It was published by Thompson in about 1757 in Thompson's Compleat Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, Vol I, London. It was interpreted by Charles Bolton (website) in 1988 and published in Retreads Vol.3. Originally a Triple Minor this version is a proper 3 Couple Longways dance. In this dance the couples are permuted by: 312. The minor set lasts 40 bars.

Thompson writes:
The 1st. Cu. set to the 2d. Wo. and Hands all three round The same to the 2d. Man then cross over and half figure and foot it then Right Hands and Left and foot it.

Originally a proper duple minor.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance will often be slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
