Lilli Burlero ~ Hume is an English Country Dance. It was published by Henry Playford (website) in 1690 in The Dancing Master, 8th ed.. It was interpreted by Colin Hume (website) in 2014 and published in Colin Hume's Website. It is a proper Duple Minor dance. The minor set lasts 24 bars. It is in the key: G major. Someone thought this dance was Easy / Intermediate.
The 1. man lead his Partner down through the 2. cu. and cast up to his own place, and the 2. cu. lead up throught the 1. cu. and cast off into their own places, then the 1. man cross over with the 2. wo. and the 1. wo. with the 2 man, then fall back and meet and turn S. then cross over, and the men back to back, the we. at the same time doing the like, then the two men right and left, the we. at the same time doing the like till the 1. cu. comes into the 2. cu. place.
The tune was published, by Playford, with the dance. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album More Favorites of the Boston Centre. The music is used with permission from the Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc.
The animation plays at 107 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily (no music plays during this slow set). Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
An online description of the dance may be found here.
The dance contains the following figures: cast, lead, rights and lefts (and probably others).
If you find what you believe to be a mistake in this animation, please leave a comment on youtube explaining what you believe to be wrong. If I agree with you I shall do my best to fix it.
