Arrival from Holland

Arrival from Holland is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Pat Shaw (website) in 1974 and published in New Wine in Old Bottles. It is a Facing Couples dance. There is no progression in this dance. It is a USA dance. The dance lasts 84 bars.

I find Shaw's description of III.B difficult to understand. I'm not sure I've got it right. I think when he says "corner" he means "original opposite". I think when he says move one place anticlockwise round the set, ending in opposite place that he is only half right. Women end in the opposite woman's place and men in the opposite man's.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.

The dance contains the following figures: USA, hand turn (allemande), turn single, turn single cloverleaf, circle, cast, lead, hands across, hey, hey for four, back to back, face to face (and probably others).
