Hay's Australian Ladies

Australian Ladies - Hay or Hay's Australian Ladies is a Scottish Country Dance. It was devised by Alec Hay in 1966 and published in Twenty Scottish Country Dances by Alec Hay, Book 1, Auckland, NZ. It is R4×32 4C, a proper 4 Couple Longways dance. In this dance the couples are permuted by: 2341. R32.

This dance was devised before Cambell's Australian Ladies but published after it. When Campbell's dance was published Hay change the name of his dance to Hay's Australian Ladies.

This is the first use of Set & Link than I know of.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance will often be slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.

The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), set, cast, lead, figure eight, set and link, cross go below, back to back (and probably others).
