The Friendly Brooke is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Chris Sackett (website) in 2001 and published in Impropriety Vol. 1. It is a proper Triple Minor dance. The minor set lasts 24 bars.
Devised by Chris Sackett for Brooke Friendly.
If you have never done a diagonal rights and lefts look at the description in the Scottish Country Dance Dictionary. This one is a little odd, the 1s are improper, which means that you are looking for your partner's corners rather than your own.
The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance will often be slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), gypsy, circle, lead, hey, hey for three, rights and lefts, siding, cross go below (and probably others).
