Inspired by Keith Rose's Crib Diagrams, for Playford style dances I have added a few extra symbols.
The Morland Waltz ~ 3 Couple is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Colin Hume (website) in 2010 and published in Colin Hume's Website. It is a proper 3 Couple Longways dance. In this dance the couples are permuted by: 231. The minor set lasts 29 bars. Someone thought this dance was Intermediate / Hard.
Colin Hume designed this for a five couple set; I think it could be done as a double progression duple minor with an odd number of couples.
Corners pass and turn is a figure devised by John Drewry in about 1971. Those unfamiliar with it should look at the explanation at the Scottish Country Dancing Dictionary.
The tune was composed by Colin Hume for this dance, and the music was synthesized using Colin Hume's software.
The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance will often be slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily (no music plays during this slow set). Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
An online description of the dance may be found here.
The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), cast, lead, figure eight, hands across, corners pass and turn (and probably others).
