Woodstock Park is an English Country Dance. It was devised by Nathaniel Kynaston in 1711 and published in Twenty Four New Country Dances for the Year 1711. It was interpreted by Andrew Shaw in 2000 and published in Mr. Kynaston's Famous Dance. Found in The Playford Assembly. It is a proper Duple Minor dance. The minor set lasts 32 bars.
Note: The first Strain twice the last once.
The 1st. and 2d. cu. set a-cross 1st. cu. cast off 1st. man figure through the 3d cu. 1st. woman figure through the 2d cu. at the same time 2d. cu. do the same the 1st. man go the outside below the 2d cu. man and slip up the middle the 1st. woman at the same time go down the middle and cast up, take hands with the 2d. cu. and go half round then right hands and left, sides quite round which brings the1st. cu. proper in the 2d. cu. place
The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
The dance contains the following figures: set, circle, cast, lead, hey, rights and lefts (and probably others).
