Rose Progression

The Rose Progression is a progressive figure for two couples.

M1+W2 set for the first two bars while the others cross by right hand.

M1+W2 two hand turn half in two bars, while the other two cast up or down into the positions M1,W2 originally occupied.

M1+W2 turn over their right shoulders and loop into each others place, while the other two dancers come in and two hand turn have (navigating this can be a bit tricky, you have to curve out to places).

Finally M1+W2 cross the set while the others pull back their right shoulders and curve out to the place behind them.

History

The earliest dance with this figure that I can find is Ron Downey's Jenny Freeman's Strathspey from 1993.
