Waltzing Turn Poussette

This is a 16 bar non-progressive figure for two couples. Dancers move into poussette position and go counter-clockwise out of the set (as if doing a normal poussette). When they are as far out as they'll get then they two hand turn once and a half. Then they move in to the other couple's spot (note: because of the turn once and a half, the same dancer is pushing as before).

And then repeat the sequence until everyone has returned home.

History

Alan Wilson and the Regency Dance site describe this figure for use in the dance Lord Nelson's Waltz, which calls for a 16 bar poussette: Poussette quite round with the 2^d. Cu:

I, myself, have been unable to find any description of this figure before the modern one, so I don't know how authentic it may be.
