Ian Powrie's Farewell to Auchterarder ~ Hex or Farewell to Auchterarder is a Scottish Country Dance. It was devised by Bill Hamilton in 1967. It is a 6 Couple Circle dance. In this dance the couples are permuted by: 561234. J128. Someone thought this dance was Hard. An online description of the dance may be found here.

Ian Powrie left Aucherarder in 1966. The tune for the dance was composed by John McGregor in 1967. The dance was first published in 1967.

In Modern Western Square Dancing, any suffiently symetrical square can be danced in a hexagon. This shows the same is true of Scottish Country Dance.

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.

The dance contains the following figures: hand turn (allemande), set, circle, figure eight, hands across, hey, parallel hey, promenade round (and probably others).
