Godwin's Humors ~ 3 Couple

Godwin's Humors ~ 3 Couple is an English Country Dance. It was published by John Young in 1710. It was interpreted by Scott Higgs (website) in 2018 and published in Key to the Cellar. Originally a Triple Minor this version is a proper 3 Couple Longways dance. In this dance the couples are permuted by: 231. The minor set lasts 16 bars. The tune is a slip jig. The first Couple cross over the second and third Couple, and draw in and out with the second and third Couple, till you come to your own Places Then the first Man change Place with the second Woman, the first Woman do the same with the second Man Then the first and second Couple take Hands half round Then Right and Left quite round into second Couple's Place

The animation plays at 120 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance will often be slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.

The dance contains the following figures: turn single, circle, lead, poussette, hey, circular hey, cross go below, change (and probably others).
