Grand Hex is a Square Dance. It was published by sometime before 2024-05-11. It is a 6 Couple Circle dance. There is no progression in this dance. The dance lasts 17 bars.
My Square Dance group in Santa Barbara rarely has the 16 people needed for 2 squares, but often has more than 12. So we do a lot of 6 couple rectangle dances (The old Quadrille format with 4 head couples and 2 side couples).
But we never have done a grand square in this format. So here's an example of how to do a hex grand square.
This isn't a real dance, just an exploration of a single call in an unusual configuration.
The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.
